The John T. Richardson Library recently started circulating twelve e-readers. The chosen e-readers for this pilot project are the new Nooks produced by Barnes & Noble, which have a touch screen and a very user friendly interface.
These e-reader devices are loaded with a mixture of recent and classic fiction and non-fiction titles and are intended to foster enthusiasm for recreational reading. While not all of devices contain the same set of content, loaded titles include the Hunger Games Trilogy, Omnivore’s Dilemma, The Help, Pride & Prejudice, Paradise Lost and also titles from the Game of Thrones series.
These devices have a check-out period of two weeks and are available to students, faculty and staff at DePaul on a first come, first served basis. If this pilot proves successful then this service may be expanded to additional campuses.
