Classical Scores Library & Other New Resources

​​​​​We are pleased to announce that we were able to use end of year funds to add Volume I of Classical Scores Library​ to our collection of online databases. This resource provides convenient access to thousands of music scores online, something that has long been requested by our users, and represents standard repertoire studied in the School of Music.

Even during the trial period, this resource came in handy when a faculty member in the School of Music​ asked one of our librarians for help locating a hard-to-find contemporary music score. The item was not held by any of the libraries in I-Share but the librarian was able to locate the score in the Classical Scores Library and email a link to the faculty member, who was thrilled to gain such easy and quick access to the score.

The Library is also pursuing additional resources including:

​African Newspapers: This collection includes more than 70 newspapers published between 1800 and 1922 in Sub-Saharan Africa offer an unrivaled viewpoint into a time of drastic change. A wide range of colonial era viewpoints is chronicled in titles from Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe and other locales.

​South Asian Newspapers: This collection includes colonial-era titles published in India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka from 1864-1922. Among the key publications: Amrita Bazar Patrika (Calcutta), Bankura Darpana (Bankura), Madras Mail (Madras), Tribune (Lahore) and the Ceylon Observer (Sri Lanka).  Languages include English, Bengali, and Gujarati.

  • ​APA e-book collections: Online access to over sixty American Psychological Association titles published in 2014 and 2015.
  • ​Nursing education in video upgrade: This purchase means that we will automatically receive all new content added through the end of 2019‑around 50 new videos per year.​
