Many researchers are familiar with the data sets available through the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 An international consortium of over 700 academic institutions and research centers, the ICPSR provides curation, storage and access to over a half million data sets and associated files.\u00a0 The\u00a0 consortium also provides basic and advanced training in a wide range of methodologies and techniques for research across the social, behavioral, and medical sciences.\"Data<\/a><\/p>\n

The Summer Program<\/a> in Quantitative Methods of Social Research offers two intensive four-week programs on-site in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as well as the opportunity to take shorter workshops both at ICPSR and other locations.\u00a0 Programs of study include: research design, statistics, data analysis, and social science methodology.\u00a0 Registration for the 2016 Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research\u00a0 is open on Monday, February 8.\u00a0 Since DePaul is an ICPSR member institution, our faculty and students receive a substantial tuition discount.\u00a0 Graduate students and pre-tenure scholars are also eligible to apply for a fee-waiver scholarship<\/a>.\u00a0 For more information, visit the ICPSR Summer Program<\/a> site.<\/p>\n

\u201cI highly recommend the Summer Program at ICPSR because it is a wonderful opportunity to increase and improve analytical skillsets in a low-pressure, friendly environment.\u00a0 The organizers do a wonderful job of providing a wide variety of workshops, from those that introduce participants to software packages (like R) to those that introduce advanced level methods (like Bayesian models).\u00a0 ICPSR have recruited some of the biggest names doing academic research to conduct the workshops.\u00a0 Their 3-5 day workshops and their longer courses are well worth the time and resource investment.\u201d<\/p>\n
