On February 1st, HathiTrust Executive Director Mike Furlough will visit DePaul University to provide an update on the HathiTrust Digital Library, the HathiTrust Research Center, and ways in which DePaul students, faculty, and staff can benefit from our participation in HathiTrust.
HathiTrust is a worldwide partnership of more than 100 libraries and research institutions “working to ensure that the cultural record is preserved and accessible long into the future.” Launched in 2008, HathiTrust and its partners provide access to a collection of more than 7 million book titles and more than 400,000 serial titles. As a HathiTrust partner, the library provides students, faculty, and staff with access to more than 5,000,000 volumes in the public domain, as well as to the computational tools needed to conduct text mining and other forms of research in the digital humanities.
DePaul joined the HathiTrust Partnership in Fall 2016 as part of our strategic investment in providing access to digital content and services that support innovative approaches to teaching, learning, and scholarship, including our ongoing partnership with Studio Chi. Members of the DePaul community wishing to learn more about how they can use HathiTrust in their work may RSVP for the event online.
