Summer is approaching, and that means we’re getting closer to our Library Reboot! On June 24, the DePaul University Library will update its public-facing and internal library systems to provide a better user experience and a more seamless discovery of our various print materials, electronic journal articles, e-books and more in a single easy-to-use search interface.
From data migration and clean-up to configuring search options, Library staff have been working hard to prepare for the reboot. We are excited to share these new features and enhancements that you can look forward to beginning this June.
Search more DePaul Library resources through a single search box
The new Everything at DePaul search combines a search of the library catalog plus full-text articles, e-books, and more. It’s your one-stop tool for searching almost everything at DePaul, including print books and journals, games, media, and music scores along with full-text journal articles, e-books, legal documents, magazine and newspaper articles, data sets, and more.
Use Campus Connect credentials to access your library account
Log in with your Campus Connect credentials to request library materials, renew items, and view your library account. Since I-Share is integrated into the new system, requesting books from other libraries will be even easier.
Get more notifications with less paper waste
New electronic notifications mean that you’ll receive automatic library emails when you check out or return materials, when items are available for pick-up, and when library materials are due. No more wondering whether you returned an item, and you can simply search your email to find the title for that book you checked out last year.
Additional enhancements include:
- A mobile-friendly interface
- Real-time updates to records making the release of materials more timely
- Integrated systems for efficient management of e-resources
- Longer loan periods for some favorite non-book checkouts like headphones and chargers
- Easier access to I-Share resources due to shared system records and configurations
We look forward to announcing even more exciting features of our library reboot as the date approaches. Library workshops and guides will also be available to help you navigate new library systems and get familiar with new features. To learn more, visit our Migration Guide.
