DePaul University, in partnership with CARLI (Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois), is happy to announce eRead Illinois via Boundless, a website and app that offers free access to over 45,000 popular ebooks and audiobooks! You can read more about this program on the eRead Illinois website here. Discover a world of possibilities with Boundless, an extensive collection of ebooks, audio and digital media. Whether you’re an avid reader or someone who listens to audio at 2x speed, Boundless is your gateway to a digital library from the comfort of your own device so you can read, learn and explore wherever you are.

All DePaul University students, faculty, and staff can access these materials directly through the website or in the Boundless app (available for Apple and Android). In either case, start by selecting your library as “DePaul University” and then simply log in with your DePaul email and password.

Tips for using Boundless

Do you have a long flight coming up? Maybe a car ride when you could lose phone reception? All Boundless ebooks and audiobooks are downloadable, which means even if your phone is on airplane mode, you can still enjoy anything you’ve checked out!

Don’t want to wait for a book? A lot of books are extremely popular and will have waitlists, but there are thousands of others that won’t. Simply sort the content by “Available Now” and you’ll only see items that you can check out immediately!

Looking specifically for an audiobook you can work out to or an ebook to enjoy at home? You can also filter content by format!

The My Shelf feature is a personalized page for all of your checkouts. Once you download the app or use the web version, you can also view specially curated carousels and content based on your reading activities and interests.

If you have any questions about this service, please feel free to Ask a Librarian. Happy Reading!
