National Library Week is a time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. The theme for this year\u2019s National Library Week is \u201cWelcome to your library,\u201d which promotes the idea that the library is more than a building that houses books; the resources and services the library provides can be accessed from anywhere online. Everyone in the DePaul community is welcome to make use of these resources, not just for education, but also for fun!<\/p>\n

The Library\u2019s EDGE<\/a> Team, a group of first-year students who are developing professional skills while contributing to library projects, created the virtual scavenger hunt to welcome students to the library\u2019s online resources. Library EDGE Team member Jacinda Smith explains that due to the pandemic, \u201cwe are not able to go in and see what the library has to offer for students. However, this does not limit us since the DePaul Library website has lots to offer as well.\u201d Lizzie Miller adds, \u201cThe DePaul Library website holds a plethora of information, resources, and entertainment that is often overlooked or unknown by students. I personally hope the participants of our scavenger hunt leave it with some greater knowledge of resources available to them.\u201d Even the Library EDGE team gained a greater knowledge of library resources, such as Agne Butvilas who says, \u201cI learned about a lot of awesome resources our library offers that I had no idea were available.\u201d<\/p>\n
