Here are some examples of what we\u2019ve helped students find recently.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I need sources on Venus and Adonis, a painting by Peter Paul Rubens.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do we have a musical score of Frederic Rzewski&#8217;s &#8220;Coming Together&#8221; from 1971?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I&#8217;m looking to access a particular volume of the journal Celebrity Studies, it is a special issue on RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I am looking for primary sources on the life and accomplishments of Melaku Bayen, founder of the Ethiopian World Federation.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I wanted to find articles on diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education, specifically about DEI policies in universities and colleges<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I am interested in finding studies about teaching music education to ELL or dual language students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I&#8217;m trying to find a reliable data source to determine Chicago&#8217;s average rainfall amount in inches.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you have articles about teaching mathematics to middle schoolers and mental health?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I\u2019m looking for UK music publications that wrote about the band The Smiths any time between 1983-1995.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s a transcript of a recent Ask A Librarian chat with a student:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student: Hello, I\u2019m searching specifically for qualitative studies of art therapy with chronically ill children\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: hi<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: you can often limit in some databases using &#8220;qualitative studies&#8221; as a key word, or some of them have a limiter<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: let&#8217;s take a look<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student: thank you!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: APA psycinfo is a good one to start with<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: one sec while I set it up<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student: ok<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: so I set up a combined database search, as I feared, the topic is quite specific, so I took out &#8220;qualitative studies&#8221; as a keyword, here is where I am: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3jLIA9Y\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/bit.ly\/3jLIA9Y<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: these still might be, going to tweak a few things<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: this is the only one that comes up with one with all the keywords:<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2ZtktFK\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> https:\/\/bit.ly\/2ZtktFK<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student: this is perfect I only need one to analyze!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: if I just do &#8220;study&#8221; I get these: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3EouFP7\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/bit.ly\/3EouFP7<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: ok!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student: the main part was qualitative that i was struggling to find<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student: thank you!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Librarian: ok, great. make sure it is!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student: from the abstract it looks on track!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student: thanks again \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Halloween!
