To cap off Open Education Week 2022, this final post will share a few virtual workshops if you are interested in learning more about OER and open pedagogy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI) offers a range of workshops and training throughout the year. In the near term, there are two OER-related workshops that faculty or administrators may want to explore if calendars permit.<\/span><\/p>\n

CARLI OER Faculty Workshop: Supporting Academic Success: Open Educational Resources and Affordable Course Materials<\/b><\/p>\n

This workshop is targeted to faculty who are interested in the why, what, and how of open educational resources (OER) and offers an opportunity to dig deeper by reviewing an open textbook.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

PDA Open Pedagogy in OER Series, Workshop 2: Implementing Open Pedagogy: Outreach and Advocacy for Developing Faculty Partnerships<\/b><\/p>\n

The second workshop in a 2-part series discusses institutional-level open pedagogy with strategies for team building. Registration is required to attend the second workshop on March 15 or to receive a recording of it. DePaul Teaching Commons Faculty Workshop: Getting Started with Open Educational Resources (OER)<\/b><\/p>\n

Abbey Elder, an OER expert from Iowa State University, presented a workshop to DePaul University faculty on November 5, 2021. Dr. Austin Lim, a faculty member in DePaul\u2019s Neuroscience program, recruited Abbey to present this workshop through a <\/span>Diversity and Inclusion Initiative Grant<\/span><\/a> from Academic Affairs. The recording of her presentation is available through the link below with Campus Connect credentials authentication.<\/span><\/p>\n

This workshop also offered an opportunity to further explore OER by submitting a revised syllabus that incorporates OER instead of a traditional print textbook. There is still time for you to participate if you submit an application by March 25. The application is available through the OER Research Guide linked below. If the review of your revised syllabus is successful, you will receive an honorarium for $150.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
