In the near term, there are two OER-related workshops that faculty or administrators may want to explore if calendars permit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>CARLI OER Faculty Workshop: Supporting Academic Success: Open Educational Resources and Affordable Course Materials<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This workshop is targeted to faculty who are interested in the why, what, and how of open educational resources (OER) and offers an opportunity to dig deeper by reviewing an open textbook.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">March 30, 2022<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">11:00am &#8211; 12:30pm<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Registration:<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.carli.illinois.edu\/carli-oer-faculty-workshop-supporting-academic-success-open-educational-resources-and-affordable-1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.carli.illinois.edu\/carli-oer-faculty-workshop-supporting-academic-success-open-educational-resources-and-affordable-1<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>PDA Open Pedagogy in OER Series, Workshop 2: Implementing Open Pedagogy: Outreach and Advocacy for Developing Faculty Partnerships<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The second workshop in a 2-part series discusses institutional-level open pedagogy with strategies for team building. Registration is required to attend the second workshop on March 15 or to receive a recording of it. Dr. Austin Lim, a faculty member in DePaul\u2019s Neuroscience program, recruited Abbey to present this workshop through a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/offices.depaul.edu\/academic-affairs\/academic-diversity\/Pages\/Diversity-and-Inclusion-initiative-Grants.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Diversity and Inclusion Initiative Grant<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from Academic Affairs. The recording of her presentation is available through the link below with Campus Connect credentials authentication.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This workshop also offered an opportunity to further explore OER by submitting a revised syllabus that incorporates OER instead of a traditional print textbook. There is still time for you to participate if you submit an application by March 25. The application is available through the OER Research Guide linked below.
