Ten articles that were originally published as closed access have now been converted to open access. Open access publishing makes scholarly research freely and permanently available online, removing paywalls and subscription barriers. Open access articles tend to receive more citations across a wide range of locations, institutions, and fields. Additionally, many research funding agencies have mandates requiring that results from research produced from publicly funded grants, including peer-review articles and sometimes data, be made freely and publicly available.<\/p>\n<p>Articles were selected based upon the recency of publication, the number of citations received, a higher <a href=\"https:\/\/help.altmetric.com\/en\/articles\/9800513\">Altmetrics Attention<\/a> score, and the discipline of the author with a focus on including a variety of departments.<\/p>\n<p>The following DePaul-authored articles are now open access:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/scholars.depaul.edu\/en\/persons\/carolyn-bronstein\/\"><strong>Carolyn Bronstein<\/strong><\/a><strong>, Media and Popular Culture<\/strong> &#8211;
