It’s been awhile since my last update on the Library Portal’s migration to SharePoint, but this project is back in full swing.<\/p>\n
Timelines for this project tend to shift due to the complexity of our site and the resources required from our partners in Information Services and Enrollment Management and Marketing. However, we currently anticipate a test site to be launched this summer with a completed site due out in Fall.<\/p>\n
We know that the library portal is critical to faculty and students and we plan on keeping our constituents appraised of the new site via this blog as well as giving our users time to try out the new site, change their course content and provide feedback to us. But of course, you may have noticed that the best resources on the web don’t ever stand still, and we intend to follow that model going into the future. As soon as the final version of our portal goes live, user testing will begin and feed into an iterative development cycle with the aim of making the DePaul Libraries portal a usable, current and cutting-edge resource. Indeed,\u00a0our efforts to move to SharePoint have already attracted the attention of other univesity libraries and we intend to wow them as we proceed.<\/p>\n
