research about the animation of Walt Disney, Roman Architecture, and the history of food \u2013 including the history of lasagna!\u00a0 Other topics have included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pipo Nguyen-Duy<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative learning models<\/li>\n<li>Herakles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, some interesting conversations we\u2019ve had via IM, in person, email, or over the phone:<\/p>\n<p>A student asked for help finding information about food deserts in Chicago.\u00a0 Since the student was already searching through Academic Search Complete, the librarian suggested searching through all of the EBSCO databases together with the terms \u201cfood deserts\u201d and Chicago.\u00a0 While they found some material, the librarian suggested that more scholarly information would be available about food deserts in urban areas in general, not necessarily specific to Chicago.\u00a0 To find more material only about Chicago, a search through some Chicago area newspapers, links available from our<a href=\"http:\/\/libguides.depaul.edu\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Newspapers<\/a> and News Stories Guide, would round out the research.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"unit size1of4\"><\/figure>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-702\" title=\"Indian Art book cover\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/news.library.depaul.press\/full-text\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/03\/indianart.jpeg?resize=200%2C288\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"288\" \/>A student was looking for material about Post-WWI Italy, focusing on the years just after the war ended.\u00a0 The librarian suggested starting with the database Historical Abstracts, explained how to limit the search to certain historical periods, and suggested a search for \u201cItaly\u201d as a Geographic term, along with the keyword \u201cinterwar\u201d.\u00a0 The librarian recommended adding additional terms or concepts or names (e.g. Mussolini) that the student might wish to research.<\/p>\n<p>A student needed help finding material on Indian art during the Ganga period, because she was coming up with too much material about North America.\u00a0 The librarian explained that searching for \u201cIndian art\u201d finds material about American Indians, while a search for \u201cIndic art\u201d finds material about South Asia.\u00a0 With this piece of information, they were able to narrow their search and find some very useful
