\"McCullough\"<\/a>This month’s featured author from\u00a0our Unwind the Mind: Popular Reading Collection is\u00a0David McCullough<\/a>, author most recently of The Wright Brothers<\/a>. <\/em>McCullough is a prolific author, lecturer, and historian. \u00a0He was awarded\u00a0the Pulitzer Prize for his book\u00a0John Adams <\/a><\/em>and also for Truman<\/a><\/em>, both of which were adapted for TV\u00a0by HBO. \u00a0He also won\u00a0the National Book Award in 1978 for\u00a0The Path Between the Seas: The Creation of the Panama Canal<\/a><\/em>, and again in 1982 for\u00a0Mornings on Horseback<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

He has been called the “citizen chronicler” for the way he cares for the subjects of his biographies, and brings them to the page. \u00a0The Wright Brothers<\/em> has been called “a story of timeless importance” (Okrent),\u00a0and McCullough himself sees the brothers as “infinitely inspiring not just in their work ethic, but also their great modesty…” (Williams).
