through email, or over the phone:<\/p>\n<p>A student asked for help finding articles written in support of school uniforms.\u00a0The librarian first explained that articles with useful information are often objective, and may include both positive and negative aspects of any one issue.\u00a0Then, we suggested using terms like advantages, success, or outcomes in the search, especially making use of the databases: ERIC and Education Research Complete.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"unit insertImg size1of4\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cabells.com\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-672\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/news.library.depaul.press\/full-text\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/08\/Cabells.jpg?resize=235%2C214\" alt=\"Cabells Shield\" width=\"235\" height=\"214\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<p>A doctoral candidate needed assistance determining the scope of whats published in several different journals, understanding how the articles within those journals are organized.\u00a0 In addition to reading through some of the issues, the librarian suggested looking at the publishers websites for more information.\u00a0 Usually, there is a page devoted to author guidelines that provides exactly this type of detail.\u00a0 The library also subscribes to Cabells Directories of Publishing Opportunities, which has related information about individual journals, including the type of review process proposed articles undergo, and the acceptance
