The buzz of intensive research, group study, prepping for finals and graduation has died down, turning the\u00a0DePaul University Library into a\u00a0quiet refuge for summer students\u00a0and\u00a0faculty working on\u00a0publications or prepping for the next round of courses. While\u00a0many of our regular library users have taken a break from visiting in person,\u00a0we continue to support the DePaul community twenty-four hours a day online.<\/p>\n

Just this last week, DePaul\u2019s Newsline<\/em> reported that \u201cThe World Wide Web is DePaul’s Largest Campus in the summertime<\/a>,\u201d which is reflective of library services as well. DePaul\u2019s research and instruction librarians are embedded in a number of online and hybrid courses this summer (as we are\u00a0year-round), providing online instruction<\/a> and one-to-one research support via instant message or phone consultations. Of course, any student, faculty or staff member can take advantage of our online services. Librarians and peer research tutors can help researchers locate information via instant messaging<\/a>, email, phone or text. <\/a><\/p>\n

\"librarywebsiteoncomputer\"<\/a>Online resources allow users to enjoy the\u00a0sunshine during the day and research late into the\u00a0night well after the library buildings have closed. Our Research Guides<\/a> are organized by subject in order to help identify valuable, full-text academic resources quickly and efficiently, and we\u2019ve also created a number of \u00a0\u201cHow To\u201d guides like \u201cResearch 101<\/a>\u201d to help you get started.<\/p>\n

Students, faculty and staff interested in brushing up on their technical skills may also want to take advantage of DePaul\u2019s access to Lynda.com<\/a>. Supported by DePaul\u2019s Department of Information Services<\/a>, Lynda.com is \u00a0a robust online learning platform that provides access to tutorials on a wide variety of topics and skills, from Pro Tools, Illustrator and InDesign to project management and coding in languages like R and C#.<\/p>\n
