{"id":4002,"date":"2016-08-26T15:14:11","date_gmt":"2016-08-26T15:14:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.library.depaul.press\/full-text\/?p=4002"},"modified":"2016-08-26T16:42:35","modified_gmt":"2016-08-26T16:42:35","slug":"library-welcomes-new-librarians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.library.depaul.press\/full-text\/2016\/08\/26\/library-welcomes-new-librarians\/","title":{"rendered":"Library Welcomes New Librarians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The DePaul University Library welcomed a number of new librarians\u00a0over the summer, including:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/library.depaul.edu\/about\/contact-us\/staff-directory\/Pages\/christine-mcclure.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Christine McClure<\/a>, who joins us as Digital Services Coordinator, from her previous position at the Illinois Institute of Technology. In her new position, Christine will be responsible for providing leadership for web-based services provided by the library, as well as for our <a href=\"http:\/\/library.depaul.edu\/services\/digital-services\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">digital services<\/a> program.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/library.depaul.edu\/about\/contact-us\/staff-directory\/Pages\/will-midgley.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Will Midgley<\/a>, who joins us as Acquisitions and E-Resources Librarian, from his previous position at the College of Lake County. In his new position, Will will be responsible for managing acquisition of print and electronic resources for the library collection, as well as for access to digital content licensed from publishers and other vendors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/library.depaul.edu\/about\/contact-us\/staff-directory\/Pages\/janice-scurio.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Janice Scurio<\/a>, who joins us as Information Technology Librarian, from her previous position at the Madison (WI) Public Library. In her new position, Janice will work closely with Information Services on<a href=\"http:\/\/library.depaul.edu\/services\/technology\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\"> the management of library workstations and hosted software applications, <\/a>as well as with faculty and students making use of technology-enhanced library services and spaces, including the Information Commons and the Scholar&#8217;s Lab.<\/p>\n<p>We will welcome another new staff member, <a href=\"https:\/\/ischool.illinois.edu\/people\/phd-students\/ana-lucic\" target=\"_blank\">Ana Lucic<\/a>, as our first Digital Scholarship Librarian, later this Fall (as she completes her\u00a0Ph.D. at the University of Illinois&#8217; School of Information Sciences).<\/p>\n<p>Our thanks to all of the faculty and staff members who contributed to these successful searches over the past several months.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The DePaul University Library welcomed a number of new librarians\u00a0over the summer, including: Christine McClure, who joins us as Digital Services Coordinator, from her previous position at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
