The Vincentian Studies Institute<\/a> has announced the open-access publication of an updated, English-language translation of Louise de Marillac: Come Winds or High Waters<\/a><\/em> by \u00c9lisabeth Charpy, D.C. Originally published in France as Contre Vents et Mar\u00e9es: Louise de Marillac<\/em> in 1988, this new edition has been re-designed for presentation as an e-book and updated to reflect the most recent translations of the words and letters of St. Louise de Marillac and St. Vincent de Paul.<\/p>\n

The Vincentian Studies Institute of the United States was founded in 1979, and has been housed at DePaul University since 2007 as part of the Office of Mission and Values<\/a>. The VSI collaborates with the DePaul University Library to publish the Vincentian Heritage Journal<\/a><\/em>, as well as a number of scholarly monographs, translations, and other original works in the Vincentian tradition<\/a>, all available open access through the university\u2019s institutional repository, Via.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Library\u2019s Department of Special Collections and Archives<\/a> holds one of the world\u2019s largest collections of Vincentian books, manuscripts, and other materials<\/a>, as well as the archives of the Western Province of the Congregation of the Mission<\/a>. In addition to the foundational texts available through the institutional repository, the University Library provides access to digital collections including a collection of letters written by St. Vincent de Paul<\/a>.<\/p>\n
