If so, you should apply for the First-Year Writing Program Library Research Prize!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/news.library.depaul.press\/full-text\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/03\/Library-Research-Prize_2019_large-1.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-8048 size-medium\" title=\"Library Research Prize Logo\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/news.library.depaul.press\/full-text\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/03\/Library-Research-Prize_2019_large-1.png?resize=300%2C294&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Library Research Prize Logo\" width=\"300\" height=\"294\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/news.library.depaul.press\/full-text\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/03\/Library-Research-Prize_2019_large-1.png?resize=300%2C294&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/news.library.depaul.press\/full-text\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/03\/Library-Research-Prize_2019_large-1.png?w=578&amp;ssl=1 578w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The DePaul University Library is offering the <a href=\"https:\/\/library.depaul.edu\/services\/resources-for\/current-students\/Pages\/library-research-award.aspx\">Library Research Prize<\/a> in conjunction with\u2014and in addition to\u2014the existing <a href=\"https:\/\/las.depaul.edu\/academics\/writing-rhetoric-and-discourse\/undergraduate\/first-year-writing\/Pages\/writing-showcase.aspx\">First-Year Program Writing Showcase<\/a> from DePaul\u2019s College of Liberal Arts &amp; Social Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>Current DePaul students may enter any researched essay produced in a <a href=\"https:\/\/academics.depaul.edu\/liberal-studies\/first-year-program\/Pages\/default.aspx\">First-Year Program course<\/a>\u00a0during Spring Quarter 2018, Autumn Quarter 2018, or Winter Quarter 2019. Eligible classes include: Chicago Quarter, Focal Point Seminars, Quantitative Reasoning &amp; Technical Literacy, or First-Year Writing courses.\u00a0 Library Research Prize entrants will also need to submit a \u2018Research Statement\u2019\u2014a one-page reflection detailing how you conducted your research and what you learned from the process.<\/p>\n<p>A certificate and $50.00 prize will be awarded to up to three entrants whose essays and <strong>Research Statements<\/strong> best demonstrate the effective use of library information resources, the application of research skills, and evidence of decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking approaches to encountered research challenges.\u00a0 Winners will also be invited to display their work at the First-Year Program Writing Showcase on May 22nd at Cortelyou Commons.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for entry is <strong>April 5, 2019. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested in applying?
