Each April since 1958, libraries across the country, including the DePaul University Library, celebrate National Library Week.<\/a> The week is intended both to promote the use of library services and resources and to recognize the contributions that librarians, library staff, and libraries make to our communities.\u00a0 Sponsored by the American Library Association<\/a>, the theme for National Library Week 2019 (April 7 \u2013 13) is \u201cLibraries = Strong Communities.\u201d<\/p>\n

At DePaul University, the \"Pastel<\/a>Library is the hub of our academic community. It is where you meet with friends and classmates to study and collaborate on projects. It is also where librarians and library staff work to provide you with services, resources, and spaces to help you succeed academically, professionally, and personally.\u00a0 So, with a nod to Easter, which is also in April, we\u2019re celebrating National Library Week at the DePaul University Library with the theme, \u201cThe Library: where your peeps are!\u201d
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keeping with the theme, we\u2019ll be hosting a Peeps Party<\/strong>\u00a0Tuesday April 9th<\/sup>, 2:00\u20134:00pm<\/strong>.\u00a0 Stop by the John T. Richardson and Loop Libraries for free Peeps marshmallow treats.<\/p>\n

Then, enter our Shelfie Challenge<\/strong>. Take a selfie with your peeps (real or marshmallow) doing what you do in the library for a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card<\/strong>. Post your selfie to Instagram or Twitter and tag it with #DPULibraryPeeps<\/strong> by April 13th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
