E-Commerce, Ancient Dance, and the Great Chicago Fire of 1871<\/p>\n

As the temperature outside begins to drop, library research is heating up! We\u2019ve been getting a wide variety of interesting research questions at the library this month.\u00a0 Some of the topics that our Research Librarians and Peer Research Tutors helped our patrons explore recently include:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Dance in Ancient Egypt
\n\u2022 E-commerce and user experience
\n\u2022 Violence against women in refugee camps
\n\u2022 Childhood trauma and chronic pain
\n\u2022 Finding early 20th century German hymnals
\n\u2022 Finding theses from past DePaul graduate students
\n\u2022 Chicago buildings that survived the fire of 1871
\n\u2022 Personality characteristics possessed by top coaches around the world
\n\u2022 Electronic medical records\u2019 effect on the communication between doctors and patients
\n\u2022 Social Impact of information system failures<\/p>\n

Does the DePaul library have access to TIME’s older issues? I wanted to read a 1977 article about Star Wars for an assignment, but you need to be subscriber to see it.<\/p>\n

Answer<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Yes, we have the text from Time Magazine in 1977 (our access just doesn’t provide pictures). The easiest way is to start on the library homepage. Hover your mouse over “Find” at the top then click on journals by title. Search for \u201ctime magazine\u201d and click the link for Academic Search Complete, which provides access to Time from 1923 to the present. After you open the Time Magazine page of Academic Search Complete, click on “Search within publication” and search for \u201cstar wars\u201d, then limit by date.<\/p>\n
