All the Library\u2019s PubMed access points\u2014including <a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.depaul.edu\/az.php\">A-Z Databases<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.depaul.edu\/?b=s\">Library Research Guides<\/a>\u2014have been updated with this new link, which is customized for DePaul. Bookmark it in your browser for even quicker access!<\/p>\n<p>For those wishing to continue with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/?otool=ildullib\">\u201clegacy\u201d version<\/a>, it will be linked from the new PubMed home page until Spring 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the biggest changes incorporated into the new PubMed:<br \/>\n\u00b7 Cleaner and easier-to-use search interface<br \/>\n\u00b7 Mobile-friendly, device-responsive, and much better suited for searching on your phone or tablet<br \/>\n\u00b7 Search results default to a \u2018Best Match\u2019 sort order (easily switchable to \u201cMost Recent\u201d if you prefer) that\u2019s more consistent with the \u2018relevance\u2019 ranking of most other DePaul Library databases<br \/>\n\u00b7 Citation creator links are provided in each article record (style choices include APA, AMA, MLA, &amp; NLM)<br \/>\n\u00b7 Abstract snippets are included in results listings<br \/>\n\u00b7 Citation export options now include the EndNote\u2019s \u2018RIS\u2019 format<br \/>\n\u00b7 Filters and filter customization options are simpler to find and select<br \/>\n\u00b7 The most useful PubMed tools and lookups are easier to find and use (e.g. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/mesh\">MeSH Database<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/advanced\/?otool=ildullib\">Advanced Search-Builder<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/citmatch\">Single Citation Matcher<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/clinical\/?otool=ildullib\">Clinical Queries<\/a>)<br \/>\n\u00b7 You can now page back &amp; forth between article records\/abstracts (versus having to return to the \u2018results list\u2019 each time)<\/p>\n<p>Other PubMed functionality that has been retained in the new version includes:<br \/>\n\u00b7 Tools for saving and sharing your search results and searches<br \/>\n\u00b7 Auto-generated links to \u201csimilar articles\u201d<br \/>\n\u00b7 A \u2018Search Builder\u2019 that allows you to specify which fields to search (e.g. Title, Author, Medical Subject Headings)<br \/>\n\u00b7 PubMed\u2019s translation &amp; interpretation of your search terms and strategies<br \/>\n\u00b7 Email alert options to notify you of newly-published articles meeting your search criteria<\/p>\n<p>For user guides and other information on the new PubMed, go to: <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/help\/\">https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/help\/<\/a>, and if you have any questions or comments about this, or any other library resources and services, please use our <a href=\"https:\/\/library.depaul.edu\/get-help\/ask-a-librarian\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Ask A Librarian<\/a> service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A re-designed and improved version of the biomedical research resource, PubMed, has just been released by the National Library of Medicine.
