\"\"<\/a>This week, April 19th – 25th, we celebrate National Library Week<\/a>. Since 1958, National Library Week has been sponsored by the <\/span>American Library Association<\/span><\/a> and celebrated by libraries across the United States. The purpose of the event is to promote the use of our nation\u2019s libraries and acknowledge the work of librarians and library staff.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to see why the DePaul University Library supports National Library Week. Celebrating National Library Week raises awareness of the numerous resources and services offered by both the John T. Richardson and Loop Libraries. The theme of this year\u2019s National Library Week is “Find Your Place at the Library” and the Library EDGE Team\u2019s celebration of the event highlights resources and services offered by the Library that go beyond the literature and academic materials that can be found on the shelves. That way, students can discover aspects of the Library that may appeal to them more than the traditional research resources and services, thereby \u201cfinding their place\u201d at the Library.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the course of National Library Week, we had planned events that we hoped readers of this post would participate in: a Maker Hub social media challenge where you could post a photo of your Maker Hub<\/a> creation to win a prize; a video game night to play games you can check out from the Library; and a pop culture trivia night, with questions drawn from the Library\u2019s popular reading, movie, and game collections.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead we are shifting course to provide means by which you can \u201cfind the Library at your place:\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
