With classes now online, the DePaul University Library would like to highlight our streaming video resources available to the DePaul community. Students, faculty, and staff have access to a wide range of streaming services, some are new, and some you may not have known we\u2019ve had. So let\u2019s take a look at some of what the DePaul University Library has to offer for video:<\/span><\/p>\n

Academic Video Online<\/span><\/a> (AVON), a recent addition to the library\u2019s <\/span>A-Z Databases & Resources<\/span><\/a>, gives library patrons access to over 67,000 educational videos spanning a wide range of subjects. AVON provides detailed filters allowing you to search for streaming videos in particular languages, subjects, publishers, year, and more. Additionally, search results can be ordered from newest to oldest, giving you the most topical content. And if you aren\u2019t quite sure what you\u2019re looking for, the home interface allows you to browse the most recent educational videos from 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

Swank Motion Pictures<\/span><\/a> is a collection of movies compiled from faculty requests for streaming in the classroom. Swank is a great resource for finding classics such as Citizen Kane<\/em> and 12 Angry Men<\/em>, but also in their catalogue are recent motion pictures like Get Out<\/em> and Moonlight<\/em>. <\/span>Available films change throughout the year, giving faculty and students access to a dynamic database of movies for teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

OnTheBoards.tv<\/span><\/a>, also a new addition to the library, offers high-definition, full-length performance videos by some of today\u2019s most provocative artists in dance, theater, music, and other forms that defy categorization. Their unique collection includes performances that are rarely seen stateside and some that may never be performed again. OnTheBoards.tv edits collaboratively with the artists, ensuring the video properly captures the quality of performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Faculty can also place digital video materials on reserve for their classes through the library\u2019s <\/span>course reserves system<\/span><\/a>.
