Krug Memorial Fund<\/a>.\u00a0 The grant supports events planned to celebrate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bannedbooksweek.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Banned Books Week<\/a>, September 21-27, 2014.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"unitRight insertImg size1of4\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-952\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/news.library.depaul.press\/full-text\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2015\/10\/banned-books-week-200x300.jpg?resize=200%2C300\" alt=\"Banned Books Week\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>This will be the fourth year the DePaul University Library and UCWbL have collaborated to provide Banned Books Week programming to the DePaul community.\u00a0 Planned for the fall are a special interview on the UCWbL\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/ucwbling.chicagolandwritingcenters.org\/tag\/scrawl-radio\/\" target=\"_blank\">scrawl radio<\/a> program; a banned books read-out and \u201cpop-up shop\u201d in the DePaul Student Center, where members of the DePaul community can read passages from banned books aloud and then check out books to take home; and a panel discussion featuring DePaul faculty, staff, and a member of the community recently affected by a book challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Banned Books Week is an annual, international celebration of the freedom to read, begun in 1982 to draw attention to the issue of increased challenges to books in libraries.\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ftrf.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Freedom to Read Foundation<\/a> has awarded grants for Banned Books Week events via the Judith F.
