Please join us as the John T. Richardson Library presents Our Better Natures: Exploring the Labor Movement In Chicago, 1880-1920, a discussion about the Spring 2016 exhibit of the same name. In commemoration of May Day, the library welcomes Thomas Krainz, PhD, associate professor in DePaul’s Department of History, as he discusses Chicago’s place during the rise of the American organized labor movement. He will explore some of the causes of the rise of labor in Chicago, its successes and failures, and the influences of key individuals on both sides of the labor question. A question and answer session will follow, and refreshments will be served.
The lecture will take place on Tuesday, May 3, from 3PM-4PM in the Richardson Library Program Room (JTR 115). This event is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
