The Library was able to make a number of one-time purchases for electronic resources at the end of the fiscal year. These purchases focused on supporting areas of growth and key specialization within the university, and also responded to strong campus interest in streaming video content. Docuseek2 Complete Collection
This brand new collection hosted by Alexander Street Press provides streaming access to over 800 documentary films, from distributors that include Bullfrog Films, Collective Eye Films, Icarus Films, Kartemquin Films, KimStim, the National Film Board of Canada, and Terra Nova Films. These documentaries cover a wide ranges of subjects, spanning from music to sustainable agriculture. Additionally, the Kartemquin content includes a rich assortment of Chicago specific documentaries, such as Now We Live on Clifton, The Chicago Maternity Center Story and Winnie Wright, Age Eleven.
Drama Online Core Collection
This collection includes access to the full text of 1,200 play scripts from theatre lists from Bloomsbury’s Methuen Drama and Arden Shakespeare imprints, and also Faber and Faber Ltd. Plays can be browsed by genre, play or by the time period that the work is set in. The collection also includes works pertaining to theatre craft and provides texts on context and criticism.
Sage Research Methods
This resource contains over 1,000 books, reference works and journal articles by academics from across the social and health sciences. It also includes over 500 specially authored cases that illustrate how real academic research projects were conducted and a collection of teaching data sets and instructional guides to help students to develop data analysis skills.
McGraw-Hill Computer Science Books
The Library acquired a package of over 100 recently published computer science titles from McGraw-Hill, all of which can be downloaded in their entirety in PDF format and have no simultaneous user restrictions. The majority of these titles can be accessed in the Computing section of the platform.
