Collection Shifts in Progress

In preparation for the upcoming renovation of the second floor of the John T. Richardson Library, a number of materials from our collections are being reviewed and re-shelved. Throughout the winter and spring quarters, materials may be moved to new areas on the second floor, or elsewhere in the building, so that we are ready to begin renovation work as soon as the academic year has ended.

Among the changes that you may have already noticed this quarter:

  • VHS tapes, many of which have already been replaced by newer formats, including DVD and streaming media, have been relocated to the east side of the second floor; and
  • DVDs have been relocated to the northwest corner of the floor.

Following the installation of new shelving in the coming weeks, print periodicals and print reference materials (many of which, again, are available primarily through digital editions) will be shifted and consolidated onto the east side of the floor.

If you have any difficulty locating materials during these shifts, please ask for assistance at the Richardson Library Access Services Desk, submit a question through Ask-a-Librarian, or request that an item from our collection be held for you at one of our Access Services desks (either in Lincoln Park or the Loop). Thank you for your patience as we prepare for another exciting enhancement to the library services available at DePaul!
