The Library will be welcoming parents, families and alumni to explore our newly renovated spaces as well as our unique resources and services during Family and Alumni Weekend. Enjoy refreshments, take a brief tour and learn how recent renovations to the John T. Richardson Library support creativity, learning and innovation!
On the freshly revitalized second floor, explore the possibilities of our new Maker Hub and Studio χ (CHI:Computing/Humanities Interface), a center launched last year to foster collaborative research and creative work that joins humanities questions with cutting-edge computing technologies.
While you are welcome to explore the library during any open hours, refreshments, Special Collections access and librarian led demonstrations of 3D printing in the Maker Hub will be available from 10:00 am- Noon on Saturday. The Director of Studio χ will be on hand during those hours as well.
Visit Special Collections and Archives on the third floor (Room 314) to view unique and noteworthy treasures, including rare antiquarian books, DePaul yearbooks and memorabilia, handwritten letters of St. Vincent, and other materials visitors don’t usually get to see. If you’re attending the Alumni Relations 25th anniversary dinner or 50th anniversary lunch, you’ll have a chance to meet and talk to Special Collections staff or see familiar images from your time on campus.
Don’t worry if you can’t make it Saturday, you can still sample our collections by visiting our Digital Collections, where you’ll find full runs of the DePaulia and the DePaulian.
