Lethal White is the fourth novel in the Cormoran Strike series, written by J. K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. The lead character, Cormoran Strike, is a war veteran turned private detective with a practice in London. You might also know the characters and story-lines from the BBC Crime series based on the books, called simply Strike.
This fourth novel takes place in London 2012, just in time for the Olympic Games, an event that weaves its way through the story. It’s a complicated plot, involving a child’s possible homicide committed years before, blackmail, and politics, but also romance. Strike’s partner, Robin Ellacott, has just married someone else at the start of the novel, but Robin and Strike have a complicated personal relationship that resonates throughout the book. The in-depth characters and intriguing twists all keep the reader glued to the pages until the end.
