Welcome to winter quarter!
Brrr, it’s cold outside. Come in and keep warm at the library. And remember, it’s never too early to start working on your research projects. Now that the winter quarter is in full swing, we have been getting all kinds of research questions at the Research Help Desk and that has us feeling all warm inside.
Here’s a list of some of the topics we helped with this month:
• AMC ticket sales
• Eating disorders in the age of social media
• Creativity and art through photography
• Alternative modes of transportation
• Tobacco and public health
• Municipal claims
• Impacts of emotional intelligence in sales personnel
Question: I’m trying to find a book and request it via I-Share or ILLiad, but I can’t seem to figure out how to submit a request. Are you able to assist me with this?
I-Share requests normally arrive quicker than ILLiad because they are coming from our partnering academic libraries in Illinois. Also, you get to borrow I-Share items for longer than items from ILLiad, a national consortium of libraries. So if you have the option to request an item from I-Share or ILLiad, try requesting it through I-Share first.
Once you’ve looked a book up in the catalog, you should see a “Request from I-Share” link. After you click on the link and you see an I-Share member library has the book you’re interested in, log in to request the first available copy. If you haven’t requested anything before using I-Share, you’ll need to create a new account first. And remember, your “Borrower ID” is on the back of your DePaul ID and it starts with 20511 and ends with 00.
We love questions. Ask us!
