The DePaul University Library is pleased to announce an increase in the number of online resources available to the DePaul community to support remote teaching and learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to providing access to our existing e-book collections, article databases, and open education resources, we have obtained enhanced access to HathiTrust e-books and have implemented quarter-long trial access to additional databases.
In addition to enjoying DePaul’s access to the HathiTrust digital collection of millions of public domain and permissioned digitized books, HathiTrust has enabled Emergency Temporary Access Services to provide the DePaul University community with additional online resources during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to their generosity, approximately 43% of DePaul University Library’s physical library collection may be now accessed online.
- Instructions on how to view emergency books (ETAS) are available at https://answers.library.depaul.edu/faq/295600
- Access to the ETAS is for 60 minutes; however, any session will be extended if the user is still actively using the book. To protect the authors’ rights, books cannot be downloaded in any way; they may only be read online.
- Only one user at a time will be able to access ETAS copyrighted-works.
We’ve rolled out a number of “trial” resources. Database vendors regularly offer trials of their products to libraries to try out before purchasing. Vendors have been extremely generous during this health crisis and have offered us trials to their products for the entirety of the spring quarter. Please visit the A-Z Databases link on the library homepage to access our trials and fill out the feedback form for resources of interest to you. You’ll find them on the lower-right hand side of the A-Z List. Among others, you’ll find links to:
