DePaul University Library invites you to join Dr. Horace Hall, Vincent DePaul professor of Education, for an online presentation and discussion of his recent book, Always on Lockdown: An Oral History of Policing & Discipline Inside Public Schools.
Always on Lockdown explores the negative impact police in schools has had on students, and examines the schoolhouse to jailhouse pipeline. What other alternatives exist, besides the heavy deployment of police officers and use of security mechanisms, for maintaining the safety and well-being of community residents?
Tuesday, February 9th, 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Registration: http://bit.ly/alwaysonlockdown
Registration is required. The event is free and open to the public.
