DePaul Worldcat Discovery: Library Search Box Enhancements

Do your library search results seem a little…different?

We’re making changes in order to enhance your library search experience. Formerly known as DePaul Worldcat Local, the new DePaul Worldcat Discovery search box will still look familiar, but your search results will have a new look! Get ready for more accuracy when searching for titles, improved filtering of results, and a better advanced search.

Whether you are using a desktop, laptop or mobile device, we think you’ll appreciate the new display. You’ll find it simpler to limit your search results to a specific date range or search for materials published in the last five years and can access e-books and articles with fewer clicks. Now you can override how the catalog orders your results more easily and can retain your preferences throughout a search session. You’ll no longer have to reset filters each new search when you choose “Keep selections for next search” on the left-hand column. Exporting citations, linking to or emailing your search results will be easier, too.

Our research librarians and peer research tutors are happy to answer your questions and show you how to get the most out of this upgrade. Stop by our Research Help Desks or click on Ask a Librarian to contact us via IM, email or phone.
